The schedule

Four ways in, one starting point.

Whichever of these fits, the first step is the same fifteen minute discovery call. It costs nothing and it exists so that neither of you spends money finding out the scope was wrong. Greater Cleveland and Akron, plus virtual design anywhere.

Kitchen design and space planning

The full drawing for a kitchen: layout, clearances, cabinetry, appliance placement, lighting, and the finish selections that hold it together.

It starts with an in home consultation, where Paula looks at the room you have and gives you preliminary options for planning it, along with the best route to a seamless flow with the decor already in the house. From there the plan gets drawn properly and the selections get made, so your contractor is building from measurements rather than from a conversation.

Anywhere · nothing is lost to distance

Online design

The same plan, delivered remotely. Built for people outside Northeast Ohio, and for DIYers who want a professional layout before they start pulling cabinets off the wall.

You supply the measurements and photographs. Paula returns a design plan that fits your taste and your budget, and you hand it to a contractor local to you. It is not a lesser version of the in home service: a client in Delaware had an entire home office planned and executed this way as a surprise Christmas gift, and never had the designer in the room.

One room, or the whole floor

Single room and whole home design

Laundry rooms, mudrooms, lower levels, home offices, dining rooms. The rooms that get skipped because nobody is sure what is wrong with them.

Usually the answer is that the room is being asked to do two jobs and is failing at both. One client's laundry room was also the mudroom for two boys and their father, so the laundry moved into the home office next door, the old laundry became a proper mudroom, and the office went into a formal living room nobody was using. Nothing was added to the house. It was planned again.

Before you spend anything

Declutter and organise

A working session on one space, taken on its own or bolted onto a design project. Fill in the blank: kitchen, pantry, office, basement.

Not every room needs building work. Some need to be emptied of what does not belong in them, and then given somewhere sensible for the rest to live. This is also the honest first move when a room feels too small: it is worth finding out how much of the problem is storage before committing to a remodel.

Worth saying plainly

Love Your Nest designs and specifies. Your contractor builds.

That separation is deliberate, and it is what makes the plan worth having. Paula works out the layout and the selections, from paint colours and flooring through to countertops and cabinetry, and the trades on site build what the drawing says. No fee here is quoted before the discovery call, because scope is what sets it.

If you want to see how that plays out in real houses, the four projects are written as the problem each client came in with, and what the room became.
